- REFIO – Refers to the 28nm Reference IO block in any version or configuration
- Calibration – Refers to the ability to externally adjust an analog parameter (such as a resistance or voltage) to within a specific tolerance using digital control bits.
- RHIGH – Polysilicon-like resistor used in 28nm analog circuits
- CMOS – Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (Logic)
- CML – Current Mode Logic
- PECL – Positive Emitter-Coupled Logic
- LVDS – Low Voltage Differential Signaling
- eFUSE – Chip level block which houses fuses that can be electrically blown to permanently store digital values (such as calibration bits)
- ATE – Automated Test Equipment
- SoC – System on a Chip
- PCBA – Printed Circuit Board Assembly
- Crystal Unit – Refers to the quartz crystal used as a resonator in conjunction with the amplifier within REFIO to create a reference clock.
- Crystal Oscillator – Refers to the combination of the REFIO, the crystal unit, and external components which work together to create oscillation
- SMD – Surface Mount Device (refers to device soldered to the surface of a PCBA)
- PUR – Power Up Reset
- OREF – Nominally 15MHz, free-running ring oscillator housed within the REFIO
